I may have just found the perfect autumnal venison dish, and it's on the new menu at The Voyage of Buck. They've recently celebrated 10 years, hired a new chef and revamped the menu for autumn, and they're still serving great cocktails.
I started with smoked haddock bon bons with an indulgent Cullen skink, while Rob went for the gnocchi with rich ox cheek and plenty of manchego. The venison came with chicory, turnip fondant, fig chutney and the most incredible rich sauce. The sticky toffee pudding is probably my favourite of the year so far. A cosy, welcoming autumn spot.
