The Bryntirion Inn

The Michelin Guide has come calling, and I can absolutely see why. The Bryntirion Inn, on the Palé Hall Estate near Bala, is a beautifully restored 300-year-old pub that has just earned a place in the guide after a big refurbishment and a brand-new menu.
It's the more relaxed little sister of Palé Hall, with open fires, local ales and food that's elevated without losing the comfort of a village pub. The team told us the Sticky Korean Chicken is the staff favourite and somehow we didn't order it, so we'll have to go back. It's dog-friendly and there are six stylish rooms if you fancy staying over.

- Marta Pereira: A Michelin Guide pub with open fires sounds like the ideal long lunch.
- Mateo: I'd order the Sticky Korean Chicken everyone is raving about.
