Having reviewed over 50 roast dinners, I had never cooked my own, until The Avenue Cookery School in Wandsworth changed that with their roast cooking class.
We learnt how to make juicy roast beef and chicken, crispy roast potatoes, fluffy Yorkshire puds, rich gravy and an apple crumble that deserved a standing ovation. It's really hands on, with loads of tips on timing and carving, and the bottomless wine was a winner too.
