This is one of Uzbekistan's most unique hotels! Staying at the Orient Star Hotel in Khiva was one of my highlights. It's housed in a former madrasa from 1851 to 1855, inside the old town Itchan Kala.
The courtyard, the traditional architecture and the cozy rooms make it truly unique. Most tourists just admire the building by day, so staying overnight feels extra special. Breakfast is amazing too, and rooms are around $50 to $100 a night.
