Have you tried the London bakery with those pain au chocolat? Boxcar is tucked away in one of my favourite neighbourhoods, with beautiful pastries and properly good coffee, all served up in a beautiful space in Marylebone.

It's a no-laptops zone, so not the place to camp for the afternoon, but very much the place for an excellent pastry and a killer chai. Bring a book if you're solo.
