London's Bib Gourmand Persian restaurant. Berenjak has been in the Michelin Guide for years and is famously impossible to book, but I was working nearby, on my own, and managed to slide in at the counter. It was still absolutely buzzing.
I went for the £35 set lunch, an unreal deal. Must-orders: the mirza ghasemi, fire-roasted aubergine with garlic and tomato, scooped up with their Persian flatbreads, and the chicken breast kebab, genuinely maybe the juiciest chicken I've ever eaten.
