A family sunrise hike up Mam Tor in the Peak District. On the drive up, our daughter told us people hike up for sunrise and insisted we do the same. We weren't convinced about a 3am alarm, but we're so glad she talked us into it.
Watching the sun rise over Mam Tor at 5am was absolutely incredible. Afterwards we followed the Great Ridge to Back Tor and Lose Hill, down to Castleton, and stopped at Speedwell Cavern before looping back. Around 12km later our legs were finished, but we all agreed it was 100% worth the early start.
