Mon Plaisir, London

If Paris and London had a dinner date, this would be it.

You know a restaurant is special when you stop checking the time and just want to linger. That's exactly how we felt at Mon Plaisir, a cosy little French gem in Covent Garden, full of charm and made for long dinners and good conversation. We happened to visit on Bastille Day, which was the perfect setting.

We had saucisson sec, moules marinières à la crème, flambéed scallops and king prawns, a ribeye with peppercorn sauce, gratin dauphinois and tarte Tatin with chocolate mousse. A huge thank you to Romain, Natalia and the whole team for looking after us so beautifully.

  • Victorino Anguera: I'd go for the ribeye with peppercorn sauce.
  • Alvaro Soldevilla: Moules marinières and tarte Tatin, a proper French dinner in Covent Garden.
