A scenic circular walk through the historic reservoirs of the Elan Valley and the rolling Cambrian Mountains. It's about 9 km (5.5 miles) and takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours, easy to moderate, with well-marked paths and gentle hills. Start from the Elan Valley Visitor Centre near Rhayader.
Expect Victorian dams, wide open mountain views, peaceful uncrowded trails and red kites overhead. Great for photography and drone shots.
