In Barcelona, Moe Aljaff and Juliette Larrouy collaborated to help usher in the age of culinary cocktails. In 2025, they followed up with Schmuck, bringing their style across the pond to New York City. And, in the new venture, style is key. Heralded as a house party, Schmuck's Lower East Side location attracts the coolest of kids to a sleek modern space. Gleaming stainless-steel counters offer a chic centrepiece while mid-century modern touches and low couches soften the vibe. But don't be fooled by the beautiful people. Behind the hip surroundings is one of the city's most advanced drink programmes. Larrouy studied at Paris' famed Ferrandi Culinary School and worked in fine dining before moving to the bar. Her pedigree is evident in a savoury drinks list with thoughtful nods to the neighbourhood and her European roots.
