It was inaugurated in 1908, following three years of construction work led by the renowned architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It is one of the world’s leading concert halls and an outstanding example of Catalan Modernism.

Its interior is decorated with ceramic mosaics and polychrome glass featuring floral motifs. In 1997, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
