Casa Batlló
Casa Batlló · Barcelona
Por Spain ·

It is one of the jewels of Modernism which, commissioned by the Batlló family, Gaudí completely remodelled – treating it as a new building – by altering everything from its façade to its internal structure
The inner courtyard is covered with ceramic tiles designed by Gaudí, which start in dark blue at the top, gradually fading to lighter shades of blue and ending in white. On the top floor there is an attic with an organic structure formed by Gaudí’s characteristic catenary arches.
On the roof is the dragon’s back, traversed by a four-armed marble cross and four sets of chimneys.
