A rich historical heritage set against a beautiful natural backdrop. Alquézar is situated in Huesca, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, within the Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park.

It is an ideal place for sports such as canyoning, hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. The town also boasts examples of rock art in the Río Vero Cultural Park, which have been declared a World Heritage Site.

Other highlights include the castle; the collegiate church of Santa María la Mayor – the most visited monument in the region, with its cloister featuring Romanesque capitals and its organ; as well as numerous chapels. It is also worth visiting the Casa Fabián Ethnological Museum to learn about the history of the village and its region, the Somontano, a region renowned for its excellent wines.
