The Jewish quarter is a complex network of narrow streets with a typical Andalusian feel. It is a must-see, and you simply must lose yourself amongst its streets.
At the heart of this traditional neighbourhood stands the synagogue, the only one in Andalusia and the third best-preserved medieval synagogue in Spain. This Mudejar-style building dominates the quarter and the lives of its inhabitants.
The quarter also features a statue in honour of the Jewish scholar Maimonides. It has an irregular layout and was an intellectual stronghold during the reign of Abd-ar-Rahman III.
