Plaza de España
Plaza de España · Sevilla
Por Spain ·

It was built to mark the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, which was hosted by Seville. It was designed by Aníbal González. He blended a Renaissance-inspired style with the city’s typical features: exposed brick, ceramics and wrought iron (crafted by Domingo Prida).
It has a semi-circular floor plan. It is dominated by two towers, one on either side of the complex, which frame the central building, where the rooms are located.
Between the two towers runs a network of galleries with semicircular arches leading out to different areas of the square, where a fountain stands.
