Designed in 1975, the Joan Miró Foundation boasts a magnificent collection of works by this artist: some 11,000 pieces, including around 240 paintings, 175 sculptures, 9 textiles, 4 ceramics, almost his entire body of prints and some 8,000 drawings. Furthermore, part of Miró’s legacy is scattered throughout the city, such as the spectacular sculpture ‘Woman and Bird’ in Escorxador Park, covered in fragmented tiles.
