Catedral de Murcia
Catedral de Murcia · Murcia
Por Spain ·

It was founded in 1394 on the site of a former Arab mosque. Bishop Fernando de Pedrosa laid the foundation stone. The interior is Gothic. The façade is Baroque and was built to plans by Jaime Bort.
It has a 95-metre tower which took over two hundred years to build and involved the work of many architects, notably Ventura Rodríguez. The Vélez Chapel is in the Flamboyant Gothic style and features a star-vaulted ceiling, whilst the Junterones Chapel is Renaissance in style.
