Parque Nacional del Teide, Tenerife

In the heart of the Canary Island of Tenerife lies one of the most visited national parks in the whole of Europe. Here, the real star of the show is the Teide volcano, the ‘roof’ of Spain, standing at an altitude of 3,715 metres. Keep your eyes peeled, because at every turn you’ll find something surprising.

The ecosystem shaped by volcanic eruptions is home to a wealth of wildlife, particularly invertebrates, as well as flora adapted to high-altitude environments and geological formations unique in Europe.
