Cueva de Tito Bustillo
Cueva de Tito Bustillo · Oviedo
Por Spain ·

Virtually the entire interior of Tito Bustillo is covered in paintings. The rock art varies from period to period and the images overlap, depending on the preferences of those who inhabited the cave between 22,000 and 10,000 BC. Of all the depictions of animals (horses, reindeer, etc.), one of a cetacean stands out, as such depictions are very rare in cave art.
However, the most significant drawings are those of the female form, created by making use of the rock’s natural contours to convey the woman’s figure. All these depictions of women are found in the same chamber.
