Frigiliana
Frigiliana · Málaga
Por Spain ·

Situated on the slopes of the Sierra Almijara, it offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Costa del Sol. The layout and character of its old town reflect the layout of the Moorish period.
Its narrow, winding and often terraced streets are connected by covered passageways, some of which are flanked by gates that were closed to strengthen the town’s defences. A stroll through the old town reveals interesting glazed ceramic mosaics, which recount the events that took place between the Moriscos and the Christians on the Peñón de Frigiliana.
Also of note is the 16th-century palace of the Counts of Frigiliana, later converted into a sugar mill for the production of cane syrup.
