Mycenae, a key to understanding Ancient Greece.
It was one of the major centres of the Mycenaean civilisation, dominating Greece between the 16th and 12th centuries BC. The Tomb of Agamemnon is one of its most important sites, where rich burial treasures were discovered.
Mycenae is closely connected to the legend of the Trojan War, with King Agamemnon leading the Greek forces.
