The most underrated cuisine in Belgium is definitely Afghan, and Mantu is a new gem in the city centre of Antwerp, owned by a very warm and kind Afghan family. Eating there felt nostalgic, and the flavours didn't disappoint.

Start with the mantu, steamed filled dumplings with yoghurt sauce, garlicky orange sauce and green chutney. The highlight is the Qabuli Palaw with the eggplant dish, a match made in heaven. Try the samosas and the hibiscus strawberry iced tea too. Shared dining is perfect here.
