Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil, Paris

The Jardin des Serres d'Auteuil, in the Bois de Boulogne, is one of the four centres of the City of Paris botanical garden. It was created in 1761, during the reign of the monarch Louis XV. Today, the elegant garden is organised around a vast parterre à la française.

The five main glasshouses, with their late 19th-century architecture, overlook this central space. The garden houses collections of rare plants and remarkable trees, a palmarium, a beautiful aviary and reconstructions of ecosystems from every continent... to the delight of botany and horticulture enthusiasts.

Guided tours are organised throughout the year by the Mairie de Paris, and the garden hosts an annual classical music festival.
